about the tour

During this tour you'll be introduced to Nepal and shown the highlights of our magical country. You'll discover the colorful capital Kathmandu, the exciting jungle in the south, Buddha's birthplace Lumbini, the old kingdom Palpa and of course delightful Lakeside Pokhara with its spectacular backdrop of the Himalayas.

During this tour you have a professional guide at your disposal and travel on a comfortable private tourist vehicle or tourist bus. All accommodations are at 3- to 4-star hotels or lodges available in the area.

Kathmandu

Discover the magic and mystery of Kathmandu and immerse yourself in the fascination throughout the colorful array of bustling streets, rich historic heritage, exquisite temples and religious sites.

Witness as well as experience the unique, exotic Nepalese culture and festivals up close. Meandering drive to the hilltop of Nagarkot for a breathtaking sunrise. It’s the perfect place to view many of the Himalayan greats such as Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Gauri Shanker as well as Mount Everest; we believe it’s the ideal way to begin your journey.

Chitwan National Park

Climb aboard local boats to observe crocodiles along the banks. Explore the park in a jeep, look for rhinos, tigers, elephants, wild boars and the masses of beautiful birds living here. Just surrender to the pure excitement of activities in the jungle.

Your safari in Chitwan National Park includes an elephant breeding, canoeing and bird watching. Unlike African animals, those in Chitwan tend to be more solitary and shy. But our expert guides knows how to track these elusive creatures so that you can enjoy a glimpse or two of some of these endangered animals.

Lumbini

The sacred area of Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, is one of the holiest places of one of the world's greatest religions. Lumbini that's located in the South-Western Terai of Nepal evokes a kind of holy sentiment to the millions of Buddhists all over the world, like Jerusalem to Christians and Mecca to Muslims.

Tansen

Tansen, the main city of Palpa, was the seat of the Sen Kingdom that roved over the region for 300 years. It's located approximately 330 kilometers away from Kathmandu. This typical and historical Nepali town hosts numerous fairs and festivals, religious and cultural events. The scenic beauty of the Palpa district is absolutely awe-inspiring.

The major attractions of Tansen are Srinagar hill, Tansen bazaar and the centuries-old palace Ranighat. Though it's a small town, Tansen is filled with natural, historical and traditional treasures.

Pokhara

Pokhara is a delightful scenic lakeside town with the spectacular backdrop of the mountain Machhapuchhre rising behind all creates an ambiance of peace and relaxation. The city is nestled in a tranquil valley and sports a tropical feel, a fact well appreciated by the beautiful diversity of flowers that bloom throughout.

In and around Pokhara are innumerable must-see places to discover, from the holy Gupteshower cave to the historical museums (dedicated to the famous Gurkha warriors), Sarangkot Hill and the World Peace Pagoda. Furthermore there are many different kinds of day activities from paragliding and rafting to relaxing treatments at one of the many spa's.

On my very first day in Nepal, back in 2013, I met Govinda and we've been best (!) friends ever since. Govinda and I have been on quite some treks in Nepal together and traveled in Sir Lanka and Europe as well. And now we also work together with by Mountain People. Back in the Netherlands I take care of the website and I am always planning a next stay in Nepal. But hey ... what are you up to? :)
