Everest

About Everest
Everest treks have been calling out to trekkers and climbers since Mount Everest first appeared in the telescopes of mountain surveyors. And the trails that climb through the foothills of the world’s highest mountain still offer some of the most challenging treks in Nepal.
Like other regions in Nepal, this region of Solu and Khumbu have been extensively developed for trekking, with well-maintained trails and plentiful lodges. But the routes in this region start higher and stay higher.
Solu and Khumbu are the homeland of the Sherpa people. Therefore, the region counts many Buddhist monuments such as stupas, chortens, mani walls and gompas. Bring extra memory cards for your camera as it’s easy to go snapping-crazy around here.
Best travel time
You can basically trek to Base Camp all year long. However, the best time is from April to June and October and November. Then the skies are crystal clear and the high passes are usually open.
