The Helambu Trek takes you through a relatively un-spoilt region. Even though it is close to Kathmandu. Besides, this trek is among the most diverse treks near Kathmandu. Due to the local Hyolmo culture of high mountain people. And due to the company of green rhododendron and bamboo forests, majestic waterfalls and snow-capped Himalayas.

On the first day of this trek, we enter Shivapuri National Park. From there, we trek to Chisopani, Kutumsang, Thadepati, Sermathang and Melamchi Pul Bazar. The route passes through thick mountain forests with great views over the Himalayas. We will also trek along rice terraces and a number of beautiful Buddhist monasteries.
You can easily combine this short trek with a visit to the holy mountain lakes of Lord Shiva; Gosainkund (4380m). These treks together, form a fine 15 days trek that takes you further into the mountains. Go for more information to the page of the Helambu & Gosainkund Trek.
