Unforgettable Small Group Treks in Nepal: together into the mountains
Nepal is always a good idea. But sharing it with a small group of like-minded travellers? Even better.
Our small group treks in Nepal run almost year-round, with routes suited to every level. Whether you are taking your first steps in the high mountains or looking for a serious challenge above 5,000 metres: there is a group trek that fits. The groups are deliberately small, so your guide knows everyone by name and the pace suits the people walking it.
Every group trip is led by our own local team. No subcontractors, no strangers. Just people who know Nepal from the inside and take care of everything, so you can focus on what you came for: the nature, the culture and the adventure.

Why a small group trek in Nepal works
There is something that happens in a small group that does not happen on a solo trip or a large tour. You share the hard days and the stunning ones. You cross a high pass together and eat dal bhat at the same table. Strangers become travel companions, sometimes friends. And because our groups are small, the dynamic stays personal. Your guide knows who is struggling, who needs a slower pace and who is ready to push further.
This is also why we include a porter on every group trek. Not just for comfort, although walking with a lighter pack makes a real difference at altitude. A porter means you can keep up with the group, focus on the landscape around you and arrive at the teahouse with energy left for the evening.
Keeping groups small is a conscious choice, and not just for the quality of your trek. Smaller groups put less pressure on narrow mountain trails and on the water sources that local communities depend on. They reduce the demand for firewood that teahouses burn for cooking and heating. And in small villages along the route, a group that fits the natural rhythm of the place allows for real cultural exchange, rather than turning locals into service staff for a crowd. These are some of the reasons we keep our groups small. For you, and for Nepal.
Is a group trek the right choice for you?
A group trek works especially well if you are travelling solo and want company on the trail. It also suits if you have a fixed budget, since the cost of guides, permits and logistics is shared. And it suits if you like the idea of a ready-made itinerary without giving up the flexibility of a small, personal group.
If you want complete freedom over your dates, pace or route, a tailor-made individual trip might suit you better. Not sure? Just reach out. We are happy to help you decide.
Complete Trips in Nepal: from arrival to departure
All of our group trips in Nepal are complete journeys. From the moment you land in Kathmandu to the moment you fly home, we take care of everything: airport transfers, hotel nights in the city, all accommodation on the trail, three meals a day, a licensed guide, a porter, all permits, and transport to and from the trailhead, whether that is by jeep, bus or domestic flight.
Your booking is financially protected through VZR Garant and covered by the Calamiteitenfonds, the Dutch travel guarantee fund. You travel with the security of a certified Dutch travel organisation and the local knowledge of a team that has been working in these mountains for years.
Accommodation on the trek is in shared twin rooms at teahouses. In the city, a single room supplement is available on request. Want to extend your trip? You can add extra days before or after the group trek, a private hike, a jungle safari in Chitwan or other activities.
When do the group treks depart?
Most of our small group treks in Nepal depart in the classic trekking seasons: February through April in spring, and September through December in autumn. These months offer the most stable weather and the clearest mountain views.
But not every trek follows the same calendar. The Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake runs specifically in summer, through a region sheltered from the monsoon by the natural rain shadow of the Annapurna range. A perfect option for families or anyone tied to school holidays.

Find your group trek in Nepal
From a 14-day valley trek to a 32-day crossing of the most remote region in the Himalaya: our group trips cover the full width of the country.
Start with something accessible: the Mountains & Jungle trip, which combines a gentle trek in the Annapurna region with a jungle safari in Chitwan and sightseeing in Kathmandu. Or head to Annapurna Base Camp, a 2-week trip that takes you into the Annapurna Sanctuary.
Looking for more? The Annapurna Circuit with Tilicho Lake and the Manaslu Circuit with the legendary Larkya La pass are both classic 19 to 20-day adventures at a steady pace. Prefer the roof of the world? Our EBC trek via Gokyo Lake and the Cho La pass takes you deep into the Khumbu region over 20 days of trekking. Or discover the hidden Nar Phu Valley on a 14-day group trip that starts and ends in Kathmandu.
And then there is a trip if you want to go further than most. Upper Dolpo, our most ambitious small group trek in Nepal at 32 days, crosses seven passes above 5,000 metres through one of the most untouched landscapes on earth.
Every route. Every level. Every reason to go.
