Individual trips in Nepal: treks built around you
Individual trips in Nepal with By Mountain People are as varied as the country itself. Think of these trips as inspiration: a proven route, a realistic itinerary, ready to book exactly as it is or adjusted to fit you.
Every trip includes a hike or trek in the foothills or the mountains. Every trekking trip includes a certified local guide, a pre-trip meeting and gear check the day before you head to the trailhead, transfer to and from the start of the trek, all accommodation during the trek, and three meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner. A porter is included on our family trips, and always optional on the rest.
Most of these are trekking-only trips. You book the trek itself, and shape the rest of your time in Nepal around it, on your own or together with us. A few are already complete journeys, from the moment you land to the moment you fly home. Including airport transfer, comfortable city hotel including breakfast in Kathmandu (and elsewhere). and a guided UNESCO World Hertiage Sites tour in Kathmandu. Sometimes they even include a jungle safari trip in Chitwan National Park. Want one of those complete Nepal trips as trekking-only instead? That’s possible too. Just get in touch, and we’ll put together a proposal that fits.

It starts with a no-obligation call. One central question: what would make your trip to Nepal a success? From there, we map out when you want to travel, your experience level with hiking or mountain walking, and your fitness. We talk through a few options. A phone call works best, but if you prefer to keep things in writing, email works just as well.
After that, you receive a first proposal from us. We schedule a follow-up call to walk through it together. Most of the time, the proposal is spot-on. Sometimes we tweak a few details. Either way, nothing is fixed until you say so.
Once the proposal feels right, you confirm your individual trekking trip in Nepal with a deposit. And from that moment, you can travel with complete peace of mind. Your booking is financially protected through VZR Garant and covered by the Calamiteitenfonds. We take care of all the practical preparation: permits, logistics and everything in between. You receive a detailed packing list and all the practical information you need to get ready. We handle the rest.
A few of our individual treks in Nepal
Travelling with kids? Khopra Danda is one of our most popular Nepal family trips, gentle enough for younger trekkers but still deep in the Annapurna foothills. Trekking without children, or looking for something a bit further? The slightly longer Khopra Danda with Khayer Lake adds a hike to a remote, high-altitude lake that most trekkers never reach.
Looking for something longer and wilder? The Manaslu Circuit takes you around one of the world’s eighth-highest peaks, through villages that see far fewer visitors than the classic routes. The Annapurna Circuit with Tilicho Lake is another long-time favourite, and one of the few individual treks in Nepal that suits almost any time of year.
Prefer to stay close to Kathmandu? Tserko Ri, in the Langtang region, means no domestic flight and a short journey to and from the trailhead, ideal if your time in Nepal is limited but you still want real high-altitude trekking.

Heading to the Everest region? Most trekkers walk to Base Camp and back the same way. We think that’s a shame. With a few extra days, you turn the route into a loop: the Everest Base Camp trek with Gokyo Lake and the Cho La pass. Every day brings a new landscape, a new village, a new view. If you want the ultimate Everest challenge, the Everest Circuit with Three High passes pushes things further still. This one is best suited if you have already spent time in Nepal and know what high altitude demands.
One more thing worth knowing: you can trek in Nepal almost all year round. Spring and autumn are the classic seasons, with clear skies and stable weather on most routes. Some treks, particularly at lower altitudes or in rain-shadow areas like Mustang, are also well-suited for summer or winter. Not sure when to go? We’ll help you find the right route for the right moment.
Just consider By Mountain People’s individual trips in Nepal as starting points. You can book them as they are or we adjust them to fit your schedule, your wishes, and your level of fitness and experience.
Not sure which route fits you best? Get in touch. We are happy to think along with you and put together an individual trekking trip in Nepal that matches your wishes, your schedule and your level of experience.
