Because it is essential to have a comfortable place to rest and recharge, as you explore the spectacular landscapes and little villages along the way. So let’s delve into what you can expect from the accommodations in the Annapurna region.

The accommodations are basic, compared to what you may be used to in the Alps in Europe or the Rockies in America. But with the right mindset and some preparation, you can really enjoy your stay at these basic yet authentic accommodations.

The common area

After a challenging day of trekking, you can relax in the basic common areas of the accommodations. These communal spaces provide a cozy atmosphere where you can sit down and share your adventures with others. During chilly evenings, the host might light a fire to warm the room.

While the furnishings are modest, sturdy chairs and tables offer a place to rest your tired legs and enjoy the company of fellow travelers. It is in these moments that true connections are formed, forging unforgettable memories amidst the simplicity of the surroundings.

Your bedroom

The bedrooms in the Annapurna region accommodations are functional and simple. Sturdy beds await, providing a space to rest your weary body. There are blankets available. But, we recommend you to bring your own warm sleeping bag to keep you warm during the cold nights.

The food

Nepalese cuisine is known for its simplicity and hearty flavors. The most popular dish you’ll find is dal bhat. This is a nutritious and satisfying combination of lentil soup, rice, and curry. This dish is probably cooked 3 times a day and therefore super fresh.

Alongside this staple, you can savor other delicious treats such as garlic soup, chowmein, spring rolls, and chapati. These humble yet flavorful dishes provide a taste of the local culinary traditions.

PS: Did you know garlic soup is said to help against altitude sickness?(!)

The facilities

While you explore the natural splendor of the Annapurna region, it’s important to note that the accommodations provide basic facilities. Like shared toilets and showers. And the possibility to recharge your phone or use Wi-Fi. The amenities are far from luxurious. But they fulfill essential needs, and allow you to freshen up and prepare for the next day’s adventures. Embrace the simplicity of these facilities, as it allows you to fully appreciate the raw beauty of the surroundings.

Please note: there is an additional charge for hot showers, recharging your phones or batteries and Wi-Fi. You can pay this directly to the host of the accommodation.
